14mpg from 18mpg -real fast

had a K&N air filter for my 2016 -which i bought in 2018. 10,000 mile limited gorgeous been grat fun ride.
i started noticing gas depleting rapidy. too to dealer for oil change told them and the comment back was you have nonwarranty air filter. then pitched the Mazda for great mileage at a jeep dealorship. would a dirty air filter cuase this increas very dsty and lime dust from all construction here in austin. in town driving only.

IF the air filter is dirty, it would be like driving with the choke on all of the time. Yes, it would hurt your MPG's.

The great thing about the K&N filter is, they can be cleaned.

I would recommend, Clean the air filter. Let it dry completely. Apply a very light coating of K&N air filter oil.

See if that doesn't restore your fuel economy. :)
