Aftermarket wheels and tires 4 trailhawk

just bought my trail hawk 4x4.trying to find some decent wheel and tires. It comes with 17s on it. Can't stand having car tires on 4x4.looking for some all terrain tires. The only one I found in 17 is the BFG ko2. Its not bad looking, its the only choice for a 17in tire.now if i were to down size to a 16in wheel and tire, my choices are a lot better.without lifting it it would be a 225/65/17 or 225/75/16. On the wayalife formums for jeep they used the day star spacer kit. No biggie. They used a 16in steel wheel from a chevy HHR with 1.5 spacer on it. I'm like wtf.the local jeep dealer said the calipers are the same on all the renegades including the trail hawk. Or are the rotars bigger on the trailhawk? Has anybody tried this? I'm getting conflicting info. The base model renegade 4x4 comes with 16in wheels. When you spec out a renegade on the jeep web site the trailhawk come only with 17s. Thought i was going to enjoy this jeep, because of conflicting confusing information on wheel fitment.im really starting to dislike this vehicle. Oh I can't stand factory wheels. Finding wheels in a 5x110 lug pattern frustrating.any advice is welcome.

I have a trailhawk with 17", and I wanted to size the rim down to 15" and use fatter tire. no luck with that one so far. Anyone have success with this?
I just bought a 2016 Trailhawk last week, which had a lift kit already installed. It's running 245/70R17 Goodyear MT/Rs on it.

Wow nice setup! Did you have to change the rims for those tires to fit, or will they fit stock rims also?
My Renegade has Toyo tires in 225/65/17 size. It has no lift yet no rubbing at all.
the information that i have found from my research is to go up to 225/65r17 this is just a 2% increase oin tire size which its recommended to stay within 3% of factory.

I know this is an older post, but how did you solve the rubbing issue? I just put 245s on my '17 TH and I have a massive rub, not just the pinch weld either... Thanks :)
