Gas Cap Door

Any suggestions on how to realign the gas cap door so that it’s flush with the car body when I close it? It fully closes but doesn’t sit flush with the body. It is not bent and nothing is clogging/blocking the hinges nor perimeter of the door. The plastic inner black cap fits perfectly over the tank hole. Thanks
