Roof Rack with hard shell cargo and 5 gallon fuel container

Has anyone got a setup using a roof rack basket, hard shell cargo with a 5 gallon fuel container all on top?

My hope is to find a large enough basket to fit a fuel container near the back (those flat styles that spread across instead of being high) and the hard shell cargo in the front/middle. Maybe the cargo container goes partially over the fuel?

I was about to buy a hard shell cargo to go directly on the rails but my last few trips out I have been stressing about a gas station way too much. I personally hate the bag style for luggage/cargo and would rather get a hard shell to open and close easily (and lock up).
